Ugong Isla's Uno is Palawan's Biggest Band Event

Last year’s Rock Ultimatum offered a very attractive prize package for participating bands, including P15,000 for the first prize – the largest cash prize offered in the city to date by a non-religious, non-public production for a live band performance competition.


The event happened last May 15, 2010 and was attended by an estimated 800 strong crowd.

This year’s event is breaking its own limits by expanding its scope and intensity. Thus, what used to be a Puerto Princesa City-strong production is now being renamed as Palawan Rock Ultimatum.

The new event scope seeks to bring together the best live band acts from city-central, northern and southern Palawan. It will hold separate qualifiers for these areas. We will be offering P20,000 for the first prize this year which should attract more participation.

The event known as the Palawan Rock Ultimatum 2011 shall comprise of a total of five major events on different strategic dates – including four qualifiers, one for North and South Palawan and two for City-Central and the competition grand finals. Exposure projections in all these events are enormously promising.


On top of the intent to highlight the occasion, Ugong Isla is bringing select live performers from the Metro for a two-fold objective - to invigorate the challenge to local artists towards excelling in their chosen field of artistic endeavor; to strengthen links between local Palawan artists with their fellows who hail from elsewhere through interaction and camaraderie towards shared learning.
